As the sun sets on the 2023 season at ATA Lodge, we are proud to share our end of season fishing report from the amazing Alagnak Wild and Scenic River of Bristol Bay, Southwest Alaska! We had what in many ways may have been our best season overall ever!! The season went very smoothly over all, and in general the fishing was superb. Everything seemed a bit late this season, the spawning of the trout in the early season, and some of the salmon runs were late and/or spread out more than normal. ATA Lodge has been having a fantastic season this year. What a comeback after the chaos of Covid last season! We have been so busy with the best guests ever and a lot of great fish being caught! As June closed the trout fishing remained strong, with so many big trout being caught and released! We have lost count of the trout over 24" with many over 28" and the biggest taping out at 31"inches long!!! By the 1st of July we were marking Sockeye in the river. We have had a late start due to Covid19, but we are happy to announce that we are Open for Business As Not So Usual! And what a great time to be here at ATA Lodge on the Alagnak Wild River!! Normally we would have an opening week starting June 8th with a lodge full of guests here for the great trout fishing that we have at the beginning of the season before the salmon start to arrive.
