Alaska Salmon fishing on the Alagnak River in 2009 was spectacular as ever. We had over 2 million Sockeye Salmon, 1 million Pink Salmon, around 400,000 Chum Salmon and an average runs of Kings with an extra strong Coho/Silver run. Altogether around 4 million total Salmon returned to the Alagnak River. Alaska Trophy Adventures lodge offers Alaska Salmon Fishing the way it should be: catching salmon not just fishing for Salmon. During our July & August Salmon fishing season anglers averaged 15-20 fish landed daily with our top anglers landing 35-40 fish per day of a mixed bag to include King Salmon - Sockeye Salmon - Chum Salmon - Pink Salmon and Silver Salmon. Alaska Salmon fishing Season starts around June 25 on the Alagnak River with Sockeyes and King Salmon entering the river first, followed by the Chum Salmon in mid July. The pinks will run this year 2010 they enter the river the end of july followed bye the Coho Salmon the 1st week of August through mid September. Alaska Salmon Rivers We Fish Alaska Trophy Adventures operates 90% of our Alaska Salmon fishing on the main stem of the Alagnak River, We occasionally run raft trips or X-Treme trips on the Nushagak river, Egegik River or the Sandy River. The Alagnak river is rated #1 for consistent Alaska Salmon fishing and the total escapement averages between 2-5 million Salmon annually. The peak of the Salmon run is July 1st-30th for a mixed bag of Alaska Salmon to include fresh Kings, Chums and Sockeye if your looking to take fish home. During August the river gets good runs of Chums and Coho's along with Trophy Rainbow Trout, Char and Grayling fishing. August of 09 was unbelievable for our fly fisherman as we set new camp records daily. Salmon fishing was outstanding to include Silver Salmon-Pink Salmon and Rainbows from our Spike camp on the Kukaklek river.

15. When I got online to find a Alaska Fly Fishing Lodge I was overwhelmed with the amount of places to go. So I hit the phone after choosing 4 places in and around Katmai National Park. All the lodges had great things to say about there lodges and there rigorous daily itineries BLAH BLAH BLAH... The last guy I called was Charlie Summerville of Alaska Trophy Adventures he came across as a real sincere nice guy and he did not put on the hard sell instead what Charlie focused on was tailoring my Alska Fly Fishing Trip around me.
